Within 17 acres of grounds, this Georgian mansion hostel has a large waterfall and an on-site shop. Located in the Lake District National Park, this hostel is 150 metres from the banks of Derwentwater. Red squirrels can be spotted in the woodland and Keswick's town centre is 5 minutes' drive away. Orienteering courses can be arranged and there is a large area for ball games. Canoeing, windsurfing and yachting are all possible on Derwentwater. Borrowdale's renowned climbing valley is less than 10 minutes' drive from Derwentwater Hostel. Local beer is served and guests can enjoy local produce in the bright and spacious restaurant. Homemade packed lunches are also available. With a communal lounge area, Derwentwater Hostel also has 2 dining rooms, laundry facilities and a drying room. Each bed has its own light and there is lockable storage in each room. Most bedrooms have a sink and all rooms have shared bathrooms.
